PRIMER

There, that man on the bridge.
See him.
Look, Jane.
Watch Spot.
Jump, Dick.
Jump.

(reprinted in loving memory for Gail Ann Calmer)

A special note about LOVELINESS and PRIMER, these two poems are the only published works by Gail Ann Calmer that I know of. If anyone knows of more, please post in the feedback section.

LOVELINESS and PRIMER published in 1965 in

The North American Mentor
Anthology Of Poems
By THE MENTOR POETS                           John Westburg & Associates

I assume a right of reprint, only 1000 copies of this book were published. It is unclear to me how this book is commissioned, and I don't think the two selections chosen were among my mother's best work. I'm sure she would have enjoyed the self-publishing nature of the internet had it existed in the sixties. Her passion for poetry was not in being paid, but in being remembered and being creative.
