Air Supply is composed of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, who met in Sydney and instantly connected over their love for The Beatles and singing. They gained a reputation for great harmonies and original compositions that Graham was always writing. Their unique style caught the attention of CBS Records, and after they created a single in one afternoon, it went up to number one on the national charts. Their record Life Support found its way into Australia’s Top 10 – and then caught the attention of industry executives in New York, which then allowed them to expand to the United States. Their albums sold in excess of 20 million copies, and their song Lost in Love took the Song Of The Year title in 1980. Their trademark sound results from a combination of a soaring tenor voice and majestic, simple songs.
